Resource Efficiency & Environmental Stewardship
At M2i, operational discipline, resource recovery, and environmental accountability are built into every operation we run.
Our Position
The future of critical minerals lies not just in access, but in accountability, transparency, and trust. Minerals are not consumed. They are reused when appropriately treated. Every operation M2i builds is designed to maximize recovery, minimize waste, and keep critical materials inside a traceable, domestically anchored supply chain rather than sending them to landfills or exporting them as unverified bulk waste.
Our Commitment
M2i’s stewardship is embedded in how we operate, not bolted on as a reporting exercise. We remediate abandoned mine lands and treat contaminated water. We recover critical minerals from legacy tailings the industry left behind. We recycle end-of-life batteries through cleaner, chemistry-driven processes that replace energy-intensive smelting. And we trace every material from origin to delivery so accountability is verifiable, not claimed.
Our Practices
People, planet, and supply chain practice are inseparable. M2i integrates environmental remediation, circular recovery, blockchain-backed traceability, and independent labor standards oversight into a single operating platform. Through our partnership with Not For Sale, we extend accountability to the human conditions under which materials are sourced, ensuring that strengthening the supply chain never comes at the cost of the communities it touches.
Our Recycling Strategy
The United States currently recycles only 20 to 30 percent of its metals. The rest goes to landfill. M2i is advancing circular chemistry processes to recover and upcycle critical materials from spent batteries, industrial scrap, and legacy waste streams, producing outputs that meet or exceed original specifications while dramatically reducing emissions and processing waste. Closing that loop is a strategic necessity.

Labor Standards, Environmental Oversight & Ethical Sourcing
M2i partners with Not For Sale to integrate independent labor and environmental oversight into its critical minerals supply chain. Through proprietary assessment protocols developed by Not For Sale with support from the U.S. Department of State, every M2i source is evaluated across forced labor, child labor, worker rights, water contamination, tailings management, land remediation, and community impact. On-site assessments, confidential worker and community interviews, supplier scoring, and ongoing environmental monitoring ensure that materials entering M2i’s platform meet the highest ethical and environmental standards alongside federal compliance.
Sustainability and Environmental Impact
At M2i, Sustainability and Environmental Stewardship Are Core to Our Operations
OUR GLOBAL IMPACT
Responsible Resource Management: M2i is committed to responsible resource management, ensuring that our practices not only meet industrial needs but also support the health of our planet.
Creating Sustainable Value: Our approach to sustainability goes beyond compliance; it is about creating value that is sustainable, ethical, and beneficial for all stakeholders.
OUR COMMITMENT
OUR COMMITMENT
At M2i, we are dedicated to achieving our industrial goals in a manner that respects people and the planet. Our partnerships and projects reflect our commitment to a sustainable future where economic growth and national security is achieved by actually fixing previous environmental and social harms.
Our Sustainability Practices
M2i integrates sustainable practices into every aspect of our operations, focusing on reducing environmental impact while ensuring efficient and responsible use of resources. Our approach is centered around consolidation, recycling, and utilizing technologies to support and improve our environment.
Our Recycling Strategy
Circular Economy: We create economies of scale by acquiring old business assets and developing operational efficiencies and reduced environmental impact
STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS WITH INSTITUTES & NGOs
Nova Terra Collaboration
– Together with Nova Terra, we leverage advanced science and practical applications to drive commercially viable solutions that benefit society and the planet. Our joint efforts focus on large-scale, industry-wide challenges and sustainable innovation with economic, environmental, and social benefits.
Two Project examples:
- Copper is the essential mineral for the energy transition. Together with Nova Terra we are developing solutions that will unlock sustainable copper. These include tailings reprocessing, by-product recovery, environmental remediation, designer mining, and community engagement.
- Water is crucial for the success of future mining operations, and our projects will produce new pathways for water treatment, recovery of valuable materials during remediation, and securing supply for regional communities.
Not For Sale Partnership
Working with Not For Sale, we strive for a future without forced labor. Our initiatives focus on creating sustainable and fair-wage jobs, breaking the cycle of poverty, and empowering indigenous communities where we work.
Two Project examples:
- Over the last two decades Not For Sale has worked in the Peruvian Amazon creating a holistic model that conserves 753 square miles of the rainforest by working to economically uplift the indigenous people of the region through a farming and mining co-op. M2i is proud to be partnered with Not For Sale on this initiative.
- M2i’s strategic minerals and metals partners in Australia are partially owned by indigenous Australians. Along with Not For Sale we are engaged with the Traditional Owners to deploy a model that empowers their communities economically via mining and simultaneously deploying new technologies that clean up past environmental harms.
